Imam Tahir Joins MCC East Bay

After much consideration and lengthy discussions, I have decided to resign from my post as Imam & Religious Director at SBIA. After 16 years of service to the South Bay community, I will be taking on a part-time role at MCC East Bay as Scholar in Residence & Director of Programs. This change affords me the flexibility to serve multiple organizations including SBIA, MCC, Zaytuna College and Averroes High School in various capacities. I request remembrance in your duas for sincerity and success.

Announcement from SBIA

In order to accommodate Imam Tahir’s desire to have a more flexible schedule, which would allow him to be involved with multiple organizations throughout the Bay Area, we wanted to announce that his participation at SBIA will be on a project basis instead of a full-time Imam & Religious Director. Accordingly, after Imam Tahir returns from Hajj at the end of September, you can look forward to seeing him at SBIA Headquarters at the following times/events:

Thursdays 11:00 am – Noon: Sisters’ Tafseer
Saturdays 11:30 am – 1:30 pm (few times per month): Suffa Learning
2nd Friday of every month – Khutbah for Salat al-Jumu’ah

We are excited about having Imam Tahir lead these and other events going forward, and hope to see you at the programs listed above, Insha-Allah.
